1 Piece, 3 Looks: The Black Jumpsuit

The jumpsuit is a synonym of many, many things – well many awful things. Trust me I’ve heard it all: ‘It’s basically just a grown-up version of a Babygro’ or ‘unless you’re tall and thin, it’s going to make you look short and stumpy’, and my favourite of all which makes me laugh every time I think about it: ‘It’s the enemy of any toilet visit and I shall not give in to that’. But as a fan of taking risks, I felt like I had to sacrifice my toilet visits to find out why literally every single S/S 15 catwalk decided to go on full jumpsuit mode (Balmain, Céline – yes, I’m talking to you).

So in the process of exploring the full potential of a jumpsuit, I happened to fall madly in love with it, or to use a bit of Beyoncéism, found myself ‘drunk in love’ (and was quick to ignore the toilet issues). Why? It gives you a zillion options to dress it up or down. Upon experiencing such a brainwave, I could’t help but use my Mango jumpsuit (similar here) for the first ‘1 Piece, 3 Looks’ feature on the blog. And here are three different takes on a grown-up’s Babygro: a casual look, an evening one and last but not least an interpretation for work.

Jumpsuit galore or rather jumpsuit no more?
