7 Days, 7 Looks: Wardrobe Diary with Xinyi

It’s been a while since the last wardrobe diary post but now it’s back…and I promise you in a much better way than the Backstreet Boys. The lovely lady responsible for this superb return to form is Chinese Xinyi, a Tokyo-based womenswear visual merchandiser at Studious, one of Japan’s leading fashion stores specialising in bringing Japanese brands to the world.

I got to know Xinyi, aka Fish, during my time at the London College of Fashion and she always impressed me with her style: simple but always with that special something. She rocks and loves Japanese fashion like no one else for its simple yet modern approach. Her Tokyo hotspots? Uber fashionable Cat Street in Harajuku and the Minami-Ayonama area. But sometimes she still reminisces about the free-loving vibe she cherished in London. Make sure you follow this freewheelin’ Fish on Instagram. You won’t be disappointed.

Starting the week in this complete Taro Horiuchi outfit. The Japanese designer and Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp graduate has always been one of my favourites. I can already imagine my winter uniform being these wide leg trousers with a simple black turtleneck and a long camel coat.
Top and trousers: Taro Horiuchi; sneakers: Adidas Originals

I love using colours with similar tones and playing around with a range of fabrics. Hence I’m wearing different hues of khaki and letting the items stand out with their fabrics.
Top: Akira Naja; skirt: 08sircus; sneakers: Adidas Originals; bag: Mary Al Terna

Trying something different today by wearing a vintage and very girly dress in a bold red to match the amazing background with colour blocking at this secret shooting location.

I always try to avoid being too feminine but this lace top and skirt just had me by combining femininity with coolness. No one does classic meets trendy better than Kolor.

A nice dress is always the easiest solution for looking perfect. But a dress plus a pair of wide leg trousers just makes your style a bit edgier. That’s why it recently has become one of my favourite combos.
Dress: Acne Studios; trousers: vintage; sneakers: Adidas Originals

Loving the dress-trouser combo so much at the moment that I had to do it again. Yes, oops I did it again!
Dress: COS; trousers: Acne Studios; sandals: Acne Studios; bag: Fakemountain

It’s Sunday so I’m giving myself a little break and browsing at Ikea wearing my favourite kind of jeans: the boyfriend – like literally haha. I love this comfy pair by A.P.C. as it looks good with any sort of top.
Top: Kolor; jeans: A.P.C.; sneakers: Vans
