The Salsa Dancer Emoji

I’m a sucker for all things (mainly dresses!) by Self-Portrait, so I’m now showing you, in true Self-Portrait style, how to look like the salsa dancer emoji. This, however, didn’t happen because I actually wanted to look like an emoji wrapped in a dress-slash-work-of-art. Nope. The dilemma here is simply a consequence of what I call red-instict. My reaction towards this fiery colour is comparable to a child’s emotion upon discovering the sweets aisle in a supermarket, and can be defined using Selena Gomez’s famous words: ‘The heart wants what it wants’.

Upon fulfilling my heart’s needs by wearing this dress and copying an emoji’s style, the least I could do was to differentiate myself from the salsa dancer emoji a little bit (who said individualism is dead?). Hence, I opted for a black clutch, sandals in deep noir and a golden cuff. The salsa emoji and I are no longer twinning but at least we’re cool now – you know playing roulette. Red or black?
