My South Of France Vacation Essentials

My South Of France Vacation Essentials

It’s that time of the year again: south of France bound tomorrow and I couldn’t be more excited. We tend to go every year (it’s become something of a tradition) and it has a special meaning for me as this was the place where my husband and I got engaged almost two years ago. This year I’m extra excited about it as my husband’s sister will be getting married there in just a few days time. I mean who doesn’t love a wedding? I’m all packed and ready but I wanted to share my packing list with you as I got a few new things for the trip: from a cute mini dress to walk around Saint-Tropez, a trendy bamboo bag for the beach to a summery maxi dress for the wedding. So below is a sneak peek of what you can expect to see on my Instagram very soon 😉

Clothing & Accessories

So these are the clothes and accessories I recently got to come with me to the French Riviera. I definitely have a thing for red and when I came across these rusty red Topshop mules which look exactly like the Mansur Gavriel ones for a fraction of the price, I just had to have them. Plus they look very French don’t you think? You may also notice from my picks that I got slightly obsessed with straw and bamboo bags. Net-a-Porter recently started to stock the must-have Cult Gaia bamboo bag and I’m so glad I got my hands on one. They used to only be available in the United States which meant extra costs for duty and tax. So a big thank you to Net-a-Porter for giving my bank account a break 😅 The rest of the purchases are super cute dresses and my favourite of all: the pink Needle & Thread maxi dress for the wedding. Can’t wait to show you how it looks on.

Beauty

Like most of us I absolutely adore the sun and the sea. But unfortunately I’m not getting any younger so sunscreen is an absolute must. Plus it’s nicer not to look like a burnt lobster on the beach and prevent potential skin damage. I recently got to try the Institut Esthederm* sun protection system whilst I was in Cuba and it’s the best sunscreen I’ve ever tried. I didn’t get burned but instead developed a nice golden tan. What’s different about Institut Esthederm is that it doesn’t follow the usual SPF rating. They let you choose your ideal sunscreen based on your skin type and the intensity of the sun you’re exposed to. In my case, I got the Adaptasun Body Lotion for normal skin and moderate sun. To intensify and prolong my tan as well as to moisturise and soothe my skin I always use the Tan Prolonging Body Lotion after tanning. Definitely a keeper and definitely coming to France with me. Let’s also talk about my hero product: Charlotte Tilbury’s sensational Beach Stick in Moonbeach. It’s a bronzer that can also be used as a lipstick. I basically live for this colour and just top it up with a clear lip gloss for that extra shine. No make-up needed. Just a bit of a tan, Beach Stick, gloss and you’re ready to go.
